On October 24, 2019 from 9:00AM-12:00PM, The Ralls County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, New London Police Department and 911 dispatch conducted a traffic safety saturation at the intersection of US 61 and Highway A.

During the saturation, 31 vehicles were stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit and failing to stop at the stop signs of US 61 and Highway A and US 61 and W 1st St in New London. During the course of the traffic stops, 20 citations were issued and 11 warnings were issued.

The saturation stems from numerous traffic crashes at the intersection resulting in injuries and fatalities to the motoring public. The saturation was funded through MODOT’s Blueprint traffic safety grant
